KQED-San Francisco Public Television -
- Established first one-hour local/national newscast in
US: "Newsroom"
- Covered aspects of the Vietnam War, Freedom Marches
in American South, etc.
- Directed television dramas for PBS
KVIE-Sacramento -
- Established California's first state-wide news operation
- Established unit to cover the nuclear power/nuclear
waste stories.
BBC-London and European television services -
- Directed performance telecasts
- Participated in establishing BBC "World",
the first international news series.
WQED-Pittsburgh and WQED-Los Angeles production center
- Produced world tv series with Andre Previn
- Supervised drama series, "Once Upon a Classic."
KCTS-Seattle
- Participated in the establishment of PBS' "Frontline"
public affairs series.
- Supervised PBS' first bioethics series, "Hard Choices"
and the world series "WAR" with John Keegan,
et. al.
- Established the KCTS Arts Production Unit
Oregon Public Broadcasting/American Public Television

- Originated, supervised, and at times produced more than
100 episodes of the lengthy series, "Rick Steves
Travels."
Consultant to broadcasting companies, producers, etc.
on the transition to digital, high definition television.
Mr. Coney has long experience with metropolitan transit
issues in the Bay Area and Los Angeles as a journalist
and an advocate for transit service.
The Queen Anne Transportation Meetings Co-Chaired by
Mr. Coney are held under the auspices of the Queen Anne
Community Council on the last Wednesday of each month
at the Queen Anne Community Center, 1901 First Avenue
West across First West from the Queen Anne Swimming
Pool. Uptown Alliance members and friends participate
in this series of public meetings which feature key
government staff members and influential people in our
region relating to transportation issues.
