Signal Box Art

In 2022 Uptown Alliance collaborated with Uptown Arts & Culture Coalition, Urban Artworks, the WNBA Seattle Storm, and with support from funding from the City of Seattle Office of Economic Development on the installation of 10 signal box art wraps designed by BIPOC, women, artists. This installation amplifies the Uptown Arts District and our support for greater equality among artists, economic development among small businesses and organizations, and justice missions that are shared among all partners in Uptown. It is also a project welcoming the Seattle Storm’s return to Uptown and their first season at the Climate Pledge Arena. The Storm’s Force for Change program established in 2020 “in the wake of social unrest and demand for justice for Black people all around the country”.
