JOIN US: UA Committees at Work

Here are 2025 accomplishments with more to come in 2026

In partnership with: Amazon, Queen Anne Community Council, Seattle Center, Climate Pledge Arena, Seattle Department of Transportation (SDOT), Seattle Public Utilities (SPU), Office of Planning and Community Development (OPCD), Seattle Police Department (SPD), Office of Economic Development, and King County

TIDY UPTOWN:  Clean-up and Public Safety

  • Removed 165 bags of trash through 12 monthly community clean-ups

  • Partnered with West Precinct Police to strengthen public safety and host safety classes

  • Improved cleanliness and maintenance at METRO bus stops

  • Supported housing placement for tent residents through collaboration with the Mayor’s Office

  • Provided one-on-one support for small businesses, with a spotlight on new Uptown openings in the Uptown Alliance newsletter

  • Began preparing Uptown for FIFA, including development of an Uptown Walking Tour and business readiness support

  • Co-hosted candidate forums with the Queen Anne Community Council to support civic engagement

  • Responded to neighbor concerns with care, coordination, and follow-through


LAND USE REVIEW: Proposed Project reviews and Uptown Plan Re-do

  • Met with owners and developers of two proposed projects at 352 Roy Street (215 units) and 410 West Harrison Street, discussing building design, contract rezones, and alley vacations

  • Collaborated with city planners and consultants to prepare for a major Uptown Regional Center Plan update in 2026, including requesting study of expanded upzones east of Uptown along Highway 99 due to proximity to South Lake Union

  • Supported community engagement by helping conduct surveys and form focus groups to address housing, transportation, business, land use, and economic priorities, informing future visioning, policies, and code requirements

  • Join the Land Use Review Committee in 2026 to help shape Uptown’s future!


TRANSPORTATION: Traffic calming, Light Rail, and new Bus route

  • Developed traffic calming plans along Ward Street, Aloha Street, and Valley Street, including traffic counts and speed studies that are leading to signal changes at Roy Street and Queen Anne Avenue, new four-way stops, added crosswalks, speed cushions, and updated signage, in coordination with SDOT

  • Supported planning for two new light rail stations that will connect Uptown to Sound Transit’s ST3 system by monitoring proposals, participating in planning processes, hosting walkabouts, and advocating to preserve Uptown during a large-scale construction period, with key decisions expected in 2026

  • Worked with SDOT to plan a new east-west bus route along Mercer Street, connecting Fairview Avenue to Queen Anne Avenue
